Clinic services are provided by graduate student therapists in their second year of study and training in the Specialization of Marriage and Family Therapy (SMFT) program at NIU. They have received rigorous training and intensive clinical supervision from the SMFT faculty and are well-prepared to provide therapeutic services.
SMFT faculty provide ongoing clinical supervision in order to ensure high quality care for our clients. The SMFT clinical faculty members are individually licensed as a Marriage and Family therapist in the state of Illinois in addition to being Approved Supervisors of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT). The SMFT clinical faculty also may provide clinical services at the Couple and Family Therapy Clinic.
