Welcome to the Child Development and Family Center (CDFC)! Operated by the School of Family and Consumer Sciences, the center is the result of the merger of Campus Child Care and the Child Development Laboratory. Please contact us if you have any questions about the merger.
The center is dedicated to providing high-quality care to the children of NIU students, NIU faculty and staff, and community members. It also offers students and faculty valuable opportunities for research and observation in child development. The CDFC is also home to the NIU Child Care Access Means Parents In School Program (CCAMPIS) and the NIU Preschool for All Expansion Program (PFAE).
The center’s excellence is reflected in its accreditation by the National Association for the Education of Young Children and its inclusion in the Gold Circle of Quality by ExceleRate Illinois. The center also received ExceleRate Illinois’ Award of Excellence in Family and Community Engagement.
Here's a little sunshine for everyone! Enjoy this movie collage by Alex Tudor starring CDFC staff!
