Autism Spectrum Disorder Screenings and Diagnoses

Our clinic provides comprehensive autism evaluations for individuals of all ages. We utilize a range of sources, from evidence-based assessments, such as the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule-2^nd Edition (ADOS-2), clinical observations and family input to determine a diagnosis. Our clinical team is led by graduate speech-language pathology students who have received training in assessment of autism and are supervised by licensed and certified speech-language pathologists who are NIU faculty members. Additionally, we strive to have a multidisciplinary team by:

• Utilizing pediatric audiologists during our evaluation, when appropriate
• Receiving family input through a collected case history and questionnaires
• Contacting other relevant professionals in the individual's life who may provide additional information regarding an autism diagnosis, such as occupational therapists (OT), physical therapists (PT), psychologist/psychiatrists and/or teachers
