Wenner Nursing Scholarship

The Wenner Nursing Scholarship was established in 2020 by Alexandar Wenner in memory of his mother, Gisella Wenner, a nurse who immigrated from Germany. It was his intent to encourage and support students pursuing a career in this critical field, as his mother had. The scholarship aims to provide competitive needs-based financial awards for nursing students attending Northern Illinois University.

Description

The Wenner Nursing Scholarship provides newly admitted graduate M.S. nursing education or DNP students a one-time scholarship from $1,000 to $5,000 per year. Awards are distributed in the form of two-semester disbursements directly to their NIU bursar’s account. The number of awards available each year will vary.

Eligibility

The Wenner Nursing Expendable Scholarship eligibility requirements are listed below:

Graduate Program

• A newly admitted/enrolled M.S. nursing education or DNP student at Northern Illinois University
• Enrolled in at least five semester hours while receiving award benefits
