Rehabilitation counselors help people with disabilities live independently. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), one out every five adults has a disability, whether it be physical, mental, developmental or emotional. The demand for rehabilitation counselors has increased so much that over 95% of our students find work within six months of graduating.
You’ll work closely with clients of all ages and backgrounds to help them enter the workforce and lead a quality life. Everything that you do as a rehabilitation counselor makes you an advocate for individuals with disabilities and your efforts help break down environmental, social and attitudinal barriers they might be facing.
