Nursing Laboratories

Our nursing laboratories will give you the chance to apply your critical thinking skills and classroom knowledge in a variety of realistic scenarios, from practicing basic skills to performing a head-to-toe physical assessment.

The Skills Lab is a simulated five-bed health care setting equipped with mannequins capable of reproducing lifelike blood pressures, pulses and lung sounds. You can practice psychomotor skills from basic blood pressure and pulse to more complex skills involving sterile technique. The lab is staffed by faculty and graduate assistants who are always available to help. It also contains equipment, books and journals available for student use.

The Health Assessment Lab holds eight exam tables and physical assessment equipment to use as you practice completing a thorough history and physical exam.

Our state-of-the-art Human Patient Simulation Lab is designed to replicate real-life situations and challenge you to use your critical thinking skills and clinical reasoning. After each scenario, students engage in reflective learning in a safe and supportive environment. The lab includes adult and pediatric mannequins as well as a birthing mannequin.

We've moved!

We are excited to share our new home with other healthcare disciplines including audiology, physical therapy and speech-language pathology.
