Nutrition and Dietetics

Nutrition and Dietetics

Undergraduate students in the Nutrition, Dietetics and Wellness degree program study all aspects of nutrition and foods. The program offers two areas of study and whichever area you choose you will be able to share your knowledge of food and nutrition to help people make healthful food choices.

Students in the Dietetics DPD area of study meet the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics didactic requirements and are prepared for dietetic internships, careers in community nutrition and food service management as well as graduate study.

Nutrition, Health & Wellness students study and learn how nutrition and healthy eating play a role in health maintenance and the prevention of chronic disease. Graduates of this option find employment in community nutrition, corporate wellness programs and related programs in addition to continuing for graduate study.

Graduate study in the M.S. degree program in Nutrition and Dietetics focuses upon applied human nutrition. This focus ranges from nutrition as a primary factor in health promotion and disease prevention in the community to medical nutrition therapy in health care facilities. Students in the graduate program are eligible to apply to our fully accredited dietetic internship program.
