Audiologists work in a variety of different work settings including:
- Offices of other health practitioners
- Offices of physicians
- Hospitals: state, local and private
- Educational services: state, local and private
- Health and personal care stores
- Universities and research institutes
- Hearing device manufacturers
Clinical competency certifications are offered by American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and American Board of Audiology. Most states also require audiology and/or hearing aid dispensing licenses to practice audiology.
