Speech-Language-Hearing Clinic

General Information

SLHC imageThe clinic's basic objective is to provide effective clinical services to clients and their families. Because of its location in a university setting, the clinic serves as a practicum and research site to educate future audiologists, rehabilitation counselors, and speech-language pathologists.

Clinic Faculty

Clinical services are provided by clinically certified faculty teamed with graduate student clinicians. Faculty hold clinical certification and state licensure and have earned either a master's or doctoral degree and in their respective disciplines.

Faculty members and students frequently observe sessions as part of the educational program of the department. All information obtained from clinic sessions, however, is strictly confidential. With prior client approval, some sessions are video recorded as a useful educational tool for students and faculty. Clients should feel free to speak with a clinician or faculty member regarding observers and confidentiality.

Clinic Hours and Fees

The clinic is open from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Speech-language sessions are also offered a few evenings per week.

The clinic uses a standard fee structure for services. Some fees are covered by health insurance plans or are paid to the clinic by local agencies. An income based sliding fee scale is also available for those without insurance and/or agency coverage for our services.

Clinic Parking

The clinic parking lot is located off of the Bethany Road entrance. Look for signs that read reserved parking for clinic visitors in the first row of parking closest to the building.
