During a 12-month period, the clinic provided speech‐language
assessments, audiological services, and hearing screenings to over 4000
individuals.
Speech-Language-Hearing
Clinic is committed to research and to the application of new
knowledge in clinical education. The Clinic is dedicated to providing
evidence-based practice in the delivery of quality state of the art
services in audiology, speech-language pathology, and rehabilitation counseling
to the citizens of northern Illinois and the surrounding areas.
Comprehensive audiological, rehabilitation counseling and
speech-language pathology assessment and treatment services are
provided to individuals of all ages (from birth on). Bilingual services
are provided in the areas of audiology and speech-language pathology.
The Speech-Language-Hearing Clinic is open year round and provides
services to DeKalb, DuPage, Kane, Ogle, McHenry, Winnebago, Boone, Lee
and Stephenson counties.
Mission Statement
The central mission of the Speech-Language-Hearing Clinic is the
transmission, expansion, and application of knowledge through teaching,
research, and public service. In fulfilling that mission the School of Allied Health and Communicative Disorders
meets the needs of students for professional, technical, and lifelong
education. Mindful of the changing needs of the society it serves, the
Speech-Language-Hearing Clinic reviews its programs at regular
intervals, assesses their quality and their capacity to fulfill their
objectives. The Speech-Language-Hearing Clinic expressly commits itself
to the continuing development or redirection of the programs when
appropriate.
