The School of Family, Consumer, and Nutrition Sciences prepares professionals who support families and individuals in meeting their basic human needs. The programs are based upon an interdisciplinary approach, drawing upon the behavioral sciences, natural sciences, and the humanities.
Students learn theories and their application to professions in nonprofit organizations, private practice, government, education, and business. Baccalaureate graduates have the necessary foundation for a career as well as for further study. Master's graduates are prepared for advanced practice and professional leadership as well as the pursuit of doctoral work in the field. Family, Consumer, and Nutrition Sciences majors may obtain teacher certification in family and consumer sciences at the secondary level.
