Chandelier Catering

Chandelier Catering is our catering laboratory. Students enrolled in the catering practicum are provided hands-on experience in planning, managing, staffing, and presenting catered events, including receptions, luncheons, open houses, and holiday parties.

Child Development Lab

The Child Development Lab is a research and training facility for childcare professionals. The Lab provides superior quality programs for young children.

Ellington's

Students in our Nutrition, Dietetics and Hospitality Administration program plan, prepare and serve meals at Ellington's, a restaurant that is also student laboratory operated as a joint venture of the School of Family, Consumer and Nutrition Sciences and the Holmes Student Center. As part of the required curriculum, our students complete a semester of foodservice laboratory experience.

Family Therapy Clinic of NIU

The Family Therapy Clinic of NIU provides therapeutic assistance for people experiencing a wide range of life difficulties. Many of these difficulties have to do with very ordinary things--handling problems with a spouse, children, parents, siblings, an elderly family member, roommates, or other relationships; juggling responsibilities; or making decisions about marriage, friendships, school, or career. 

Physical Therapy Clinic

NIU’s Physical Therapy Clinic provides physical therapy services to the students of NIU and specialized services to members of the community. It also provides clinical education opportunities for physical therapy students and serves as a center of research in balance and motion analysis. It has a large open treatment area, equipped with a wide variety of exercise equipment and three private treatment rooms

Speech-Language-Hearing Clinic

Speech-Language-Hearing Clinic is committed to research and to the application of new knowledge in clinical education. The Clinic is dedicated to providing evidence-based practice in the delivery of quality state of the art services in audiology, speech-language pathology, and rehabilitation counseling to the citizens of northern Illinois and the surrounding areas. Comprehensive audiological, rehabilitation counseling and speech-language pathology assessment and treatment services are provided to individuals of all ages (from birth on). Bilingual services are provided in the areas of audiology and speech-language pathology. The Speech-Language-Hearing Clinic is open year round.
