The profession of Medical Laboratory Sciences (MLS), also known as Medical Technology (MT), provides invaluable information through the performance and evaluation of scientific analysis of blood, other body fluids and tissues in a clinical (most often, medical) laboratory.
Medical Laboratory Science, is a creative, science-based profession that is critical to the maintenance of health and to the diagnosis, treatment, and monitoring of disease. It combines the challenges and rewards of both medicine and science. The profession attracts women and men who have an interest and aptitude in science and mathematics, who exhibit caring for others, and who wish to assume full responsibility for their work. Medical Laboratory Scientists are able to think logically and work accurately, quickly, and calmly under pressure. Their analytical expertise and interpretative assistance makes them vital team members as they interact with physicians, nurses, other health care professionals, and patients and their families toward good health.
