The Black Alumni Council is dedicated to the recruitment of qualified African American students to NIU; the retention of existing African American faculty, as well as, the retention/graduation of existing African American students; and engagement of African American alumni at NIU in Alumni Association events.

Computer Science Alumni Council
This council acts as an advocate for the Department of Computer Science as well as the university. The computer Science Affinity Group acts as a professional networking group, and supports alumni events sponsored by the Alumni Association.

The purpose of this society is to support the interests of the NIU College of Engineering and Engineering Technology, to advance the interests of engineering and technology alumni, and to support and advance the field of engineering and technology.

Executive Club (College of Business)
This is a business club focused on reconnecting fellow alumni with their alma mater. The Executive Club values the expertise of its members and the business opportunities created by sharing that expertise; the opportunity to give back to NIU; the opportunity to promote and add value to an NIU education; and a sense of community between each other and NIU.

Latino Alumni Council
The NIU Alumni Association is in the process of developing a Latino Alumni Council to stimulate and foster an environment of positive interaction between Northern Illinois University, the NIU Alumni Association and the Latino alumni community. The aim of the council is to organize, support and promote NIU Alumni Association events that will contribute to the existing diverse cultural background of Northern Illinois University and establish an avenue whereby Latino alumni can form relationships between each other and maintain the integrity and rich tradition of educational excellence.

NIU Rockford Club
The College of Business NIU Rockford Club (formerly Rockford Area Alumni Club), officially established Fall 1998. "Business Over Easy" seminars are offered three times a year to focus on such topics of current interest. NIU Huskie Alumni Marching Band
This Affinity Group was designed to reunite the "Pride of the Midwest"! Former members of the marching band gather at various events throughout the year and are welcomed annually the Friday night before Homecoming! This council supports the interests of the NIU Marching Band and Marching Band Alumni.

Young Professionals Network
The NIU Young Professionals Network was formed with the goal of helping to foster and track the rising success of NIU's young alumni within the business community. If you aspire to be an executive within an organization or your own business; are looking for ways to network with NIU COB alumni; and want to give back to NIU in new and intriguing ways; then consider joining the Young Professionals Network.

NIU Alumni Regional Groups
The NIU Alumni Association works in areas across the country and around the world with high concentrations of alumni populations to reconnect Huskies. These chapters are designed to bring NIU alumni together and to promote Huskie spirit.

To be a part of an existing NIU Affinity Group, please sign up by filling out the correlating alumni affinity contact form. We will keep you up-to-date on your group's upcoming events! Your information will not be shared with any other organization or business. Please keep us up-to-date with new e-mail addresses, mailing addresses, and so on!

Also, with people moving around over the years, it's hard for us to keep our address file up-to-date. Some of your favorite classmates may not even know about these groups! Please forward this link on to the classmates that you keep in touch with, so that we can get EVERYONE together!
