The School of Allied Health and Communicative Disorders accepts into the pre-physical therapy program any student who is accepted into NIU and expresses an interest in physical therapy. The pre-physical therapy program is minimally a three-year program of study. The curriculum includes course work that meets the university's core competency and general education requirements and the admission requirements of the professional program. The pre-physical therapy/health sciences program does not lead to a degree unless the student is accepted into the limited enrollment professional program.
Students planning to study pre-physical therapy at NIU should see an adviser in the College of Health and Human Sciences (753-1891) or the Physical Therapy Program (753-1383) for guidance in their curriculum planning.
